She has over 15 years experience as a doctor, initially working in Paediatrics, before moving to General Practice. Dr Krishnan is dedicated to improving antenatal breastfeeding and infant education to empower parents to make informed choices.

Dr. Kavita is a leading expert in maternal and infant health, with over 15 years of experience supporting families through early parenthood. She began her career in Paediatrics before transitioning into General Practice, where she is dedicated to providing holistic, patient-centred care.
A passionate advocate for breastfeeding education and support, Dr. Kavita is a certified Lactation Consultant, trained in the Thompson Breastfeeding Method, and a member of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine. She is also a Possums NDC Practitioner, experienced in the Neuroprotective Developmental Care model, helping families navigate the challenges of infant feeding and development with confidence.
Dr. Kavita recently joined the World Health Organization’s Fides program, contributing to global efforts in digital health and maternal support.
Understanding that breastfeeding difficulties and infant weight concerns can contribute to postpartum anxiety and depression, Dr. Kavita takes an evidence-based yet deeply compassionate approach. She has supported thousands of families with expert guidance on breastfeeding, infant care, and early parenting. She is also committed to professional education, working to standardise lactation training for midwives and doctors, expand access to free evidence-based resources, and establish a doctor-led lactation clinic within a maternity hospital.
She holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and a Diploma of Child Health from UNSW. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), a certified Neuroprotective Developmental Care (NDC) / Possums Program Practitioner, and also holds a Bachelor of Arts.
